Happy National Volunteering Week!
Messages from the president and DLRCC
As we mark National Volunteering Week, we’ve received the following message from Claire Carroll of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Volunteer Centre, that included a copy of a message to volunteers from Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D. Higgins.
Hi All,
As part of National Volunteer Week, President Michael D. Higgins has written a letter to all volunteers. Whether your volunteers have been active during COVID-19 or not, they are an essential part of the volunteering fabric of Ireland and we hope this letter will remind all volunteers of the essential role they play by volunteering. We wanted to share this with you, so you can send it on to your own volunteer team.
For those of you who are hoping to re-engage or re-imagine how you involve volunteers, we’ve an important training session on October 8, delivered by Volunteer Ireland, called ‘New Landscapes’. This training will look at how you sustain and develop your volunteer programme during COVID-19. It’s free, it’s on Zoom and all the details you need are available here.

Something to keep you going during challenging times!
