Appointment of Director of Football & Development
Cabinteely Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Davy Stone as Director of Football and Development.
This marks our club’s commitment to further advancing our development programmes to attain the highest levels of performance for teams and players across all age groups and levels of football at local, regional and national levels.
Davy is currently manager of our U18 Premier team and heads up our football academy of excellence. He holds a UEFA B football licence and will complete the UEFA A qualification in the current year. He began his initial coaching pathway with Coerver Coaching. Prior to joining Cabinteely FC in recent years, he coached in Wayside FC. He also played midfield for Cabinteely FC in the 2012/13 season, having also played league football over many years at club and schools level.
Davy’s appointment as Director of Football and Development is a full-time role in our club, reporting primarily to our football committee chair, Tom McGuirk.
Welcoming Davy’s appointment, club chairperson Dara Carroll said, “Davy brings great personal commitment and an impressive track record in fostering young football talent, which is at the heart of our club’s philosophy. His main responsibilities will include enhancing our competitive edge, nurturing our players’ skills across all age groups, and further bolstering our community engagement. In addition to our ongoing investment in facilities and equipment, this appointment forms part of our commitment to promoting coaching skills and talent for the long-term benefit of all our teams and their progress in competitive football.”
Chair of our Football Committee, Tom McGuirk said, “We have always believed in the power of football to shape characters and build futures. Davy’s appointment marks our dedication to support young football players to be the very best they can be. Our football committee works across all levels of the club to support player, team and coach development. Davy will be a full-time organisational resource to bring this agenda forward as vigorously as possible including further education and development opportunities for our highly dedicated coaches and managers.”

Incoming Director of Football and Development, Davy Stone said, “Cabinteely FC has a heritage of nearly six decades of contribution to football and community that has benefited generations of young people.
