Cabinteely suffered their first U19 home loss as Ballycorus this season as they went down to Shels in the Dublin derby.
With the match tied 1-1 at halftime this afternoon, the visitors took their chances after the interval in the EA Sports National Underage League Group A encounter.
The Reds took a 23rd-minute lead through Aaron Walsh. But Lee McEvoy levelled for the hosts in the 41st minute.
But the substitute pairing of Gbemi Aruba (62 and 82) and Jamal Ibrahim (76) made it 4-1 before Alen Nolan scored in the 84th minute.
With a top-five finish still very much within their grasp, victory in their last two matches would secure that objective for Cabo.
The White and Green’s entertain Bohemians next Wednesday (August 18) at 7pm. at home at Ballycorus.
Then finish off the group away to Waterford FC next Sunday (August 22) at 2pm at Waterford IT.
