Cup another COVID casualty

Yes, despite all the work, hope and prayers, it’s true!
It is indeed with a heavy heart that we bring you the disappointing news that all our hopes, and yours too no doubt, for the re-scheduled Mini World Cup, MWC’20, are dashed as the event has been cancelled due to the recent extension of COVID-19 restrictions.

The safety of our community was our utmost priority as we had to make this most undesirable decision in a footballing fun context.

We’ll all definitely miss our great summer evenings in Kilbogget and the outpouring of community involvement in what is normally the most joy-filled annual event in these parts.

After thirty continuous years, growing from six to 108 teams and over 1,300 participants, our wonderful MWC falls foul to a vicious critter only 120nm in size!

These indeed are unprecedented times and we wish you and your family continuing good health on a constant basis.

Please continue to help to keep us all safe by following official guidelines, keeping your distance, wearing a mask and washing your hands!
