Major upgrade to Pitch 9

Major sports upgrade for Kilbogget Park to include Pitch 9.

This week Cllr Mary Hanafin Cathaoirleach and Frank Curran, Chief Executive Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, turned the sod for a major rejuvenation of pitches and running track at Kilbogget Park.

These works are supported by a Sports Capital grant of euro350,000 and significant additional investment by DLRCC.

Both the football pitch (Pitch 9) in the centre of the running track and the main GAA pitch will have extensive drainage works carried out together with a complete resurfacing with high-quality turf to make the facilities playable all year around.

The current 1970s grit running track will be converted to a modern running surface.

The works (including grass reseeding) will take about a year and the running track has already been fenced off by the contractor McAvoys.
