U-13C1 DDSL Match Report – Cabinteely FC 5 Newbridge Town 0
Cabinteely got back to winning ways against a brave Newbridge team.
The first half at Kilbogget Park on Saturday was a tight affair with both teams having chances.
But the White and Green’s opened their account with a low shot into the bottom corner of the net by Sam Balfe.
However, a double save by Cian Hapil meant the home side held had a slender lead at halftime.
Early in the second half, Jayden Knight got in on the scoring act with a brace, off two well-struck shots.
Alvaro Canas Poza also got on the scoresheet with a fourth. Just on the final whistle, Glen McDonald claimed the goal that his performance deserved.
A solid performance particularly by Ciaran Brady, Robbie Young, and Jamie O’Brien at the back laid the foundations for the home midfield to create numerous chances.
Both teams deserve great credit on a very sporting occasion.
