Over 35s Match Report – Ballyoulster 0 Cabinteely FC 9
Cabinteely over 35s kept up their 100 percent record in the new Amateur Football League (AFL) campaign with an impressive victory over Ballyoulster on Friday evening.
With a score to settle after last season, the visitors fine-tuned their finishing to put the A South game to bed early on.
The White and Green’s played some lovely football but got the breakthrough from a long kick-out, a flick on by Paul Lydon and an excellent lob from Si Tuke. The second came from lovely footwork from Dave Duffy who was taken down in the box which allowed Anto Moran to convert from the penalty spot. On the half hour, Paul Lyndon got his first of the night after great approach play.
Cabinteely weathered a bit of pressure before half-time but stuck to their jobs and kept the hosts at bay before goals followed by Moran, Gar Murphy, and a Dave Duffy brace. Another double by Lydon, the second of which after a great run and the ball rebounding off the keeper went in off his head to complete the perfect hat-trick.
Credit to Ballyoulster who kept trying to play but could not deal with the free- flowing football and decisive finishing of their opponents.
