Cabinteely FC v Cork City Match Preview

Cabinteely FC Press Release

Team News vs Cork City

Turner’s Cross

SSE Airtricity League First Division

Friday June 11, 2021

7.45 p.m.

Some more Cabinteely history will be made on Friday as the club make their first ever trip to Turner’s Cross to take on Cork City.

Cabinteely Director of Football Pat Devlin is expecting a tough tie against the Leesiders.
“We’ve had a little break, but we’ve trained all along. Cork are one of the best sides I’ve seen this year.”
With crowds (home fans) allowed back, he is expecting a different atmosphere at the venue.
“Crowds coming back makes a big difference. But we will be up for it. It is fantastic to have the fans back.”

Defender Andy O’Brien (knee) and goalkeeper Adam Hayden (hand) are out injured.

Ray Matthews will take charge of the fixture with Shane O’Brien and Chris Campbell being the assistants. The fourth official is Jason Mannix.

This game will be brought to you live on – the new home of Cabinteely FC match streams. Make sure you sign up at LOITV and pick Cabinteely FC as your favourite team!

This is only the second ever league meeting between the clubs.
Last April, an own goal gave Cabinteely all three points in a 1-0 win at Stradbrook.
The only other fixture was in the FAI Cup at Stradbrook back in August 2019. The tie finished 2-2 after extra time, with Cork winning 5-4 on penalties.
