DDSL U13C1 – Cabinteely FC 2 Wayside Celtic 0

At a windswept Kilbogget Park on Saturday, Cabinteely FC welcomed local rivals Wayside Celtic for this eagerly anticipated U13 DDSL encounter.

In truth, the result was never in doubt. Cabo dominated possession but struggled to break down a very defensive Wayside.

The visitors were dangerous on the counter attack, but the home side’s defence stood strong to nullify the threat.

Cabo peppered the away goal and the ‘Celtic goalkeeper pulled off some wonderful saves.

Finn Brennan broke the deadlock with a stunning header after a wonderful cross from Sam Balfe as the White and Green’s went 1-0 ahead at the interval.

The second half saw Brennan get his second goal of the game with a fine strike from the edge of the box as Cabo ran out worthy 2-0 winners to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact.
