U15 Match Report – Bohemians 5 Cabinteely FC 2
Despite a very good team performance, and taking the lead, Cabinteely went down to Bohemians on Thursday night in the U15 EA Sports National Underage League.
The away side hit the front in the Group C encounter at Shanowen Road with a fantastic team goal finished off by Emmanuel Ayoola.
Bohs equalised from a penalty before halftime. Then led 2-1 at the break before going 3-1 ahead after the turnaround.
The White and Green’s got back into the game with a goal from Darragh Harris. But the Gypsies struck twice more before full-time.
There was a very strong performance by the away team. Unfortunately, the score-line wasn’t a reflection on the game; with both sides playing some fantastic football in a good, spirited fixture.
Led by the excellent captain Cian Wilson, there were man-of-the-match performances for Cabinteely from Troy O’Dowd, Joshua Butler, Brent Culbert, and Shane Gough.
The Cabinteely management would like to wish the best of luck to Bohs in the next stage of the competition.
The result means Cabo cannot qualify for a top-two placing and will enter the Shield competition.
However, they will be guaranteed third in the Group if they overcome Bray Wanderers in their last match in the section, away on Sunday, August 15 at Berryfield Park in Enniskerry (kick-off 3pm)
