In the final game of the SSE Airtricity League First Division season, Cabinteely host Drogheda on Tuesday in Stradbrook in a game which has major ramifications for both clubs.
A win for the home side would ensure the club a place in the play-offs.
However, victory for United would see them become First Division champions.
MANAGEMENT TEAM VIEW
With both club’s looking for all three points, Cabinteely’s Director of Football Pat Devlin is expecting a dramatic end to the 2020 league season.
“In many ways – it’s been a wonderful season. But in other ways, it has been difficult with the Covid situation”.
He continued “We’re playing to get into the play-offs. We will give it our best shot. I am sure the lads will give everything they can to get the result we need. Equally, Drogheda will too give it everything with the league title at stake. So, it’s all to play for.”
TEAM NEWS
Defender Christian Lotefa is suspended.
But midfielder Alex Aspil is available after serving a one-match ban.
REFEREE
Alan Patchell will take charge of the fixture with Brian Fenlon and Chris Campbell being the assistants. Derek Tomney is the fourth official.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The clubs first met in 2016 and the 11 League meetings since then have seen Cabinteely win three times and Drogheda claim five victories.
The teams also faced off in the First Division play-off’s last year.
