U13 C1 Match Report – Newbridge Town 0 Cabinteely FC 6

Cabo U13s made the long journey to play Newbridge Town on Saturday with a depleted squad due to injury and religious commitments.

The away side started well at Station Road. Finn Brennan led the line with Oliver Ormsby and Sam Balfe on the wings.

In the first half, Glen McDonald set up Brennan for a stunning hat-trick while Sam Balfe also assisted him for his fourth score.

McDonald also got on the scoresheet twice, with Brennan returning the favour with an assist for the second half goal, which rounded off a wonderful team performance.

Newbridge never gave up and the visiting central pairing of Robbie Young and Jayden Knight had to be on their toes throughout the second period. Jamie O’Brien and Oliver Ormsby were very calm in possession and limited the Kildare hosts to very few chances.

Olan Callan Mooney and Rocco Rea controlled proceedings with simple passes and kept the ball moving well. Goalkeeper Cian Hapil will have busier days, but anything he had to do he did well.
